What is Escape from Tarkov?
Escape from Tarkov (EFT) is a first-person shooter available only on PC created by Russia based game developer Battlestate Games. Not only is it suspenseful, it is a hardcore survival game that requires an immense amount of strategy and thought. Players are pitted against each other on one of the many maps currently available. Once you are in the map there are two ways to get out, reach an extraction point or get killed. What makes EFT so exciting is that players load in with whatever gear they have acquired and if you die, that gear is up for grabs. This means a first-time player could come out of their first match with a huge payday by killing an experienced player.
PVP and PVE
Another aspect of EFT that stands out is its combination of both PVP (Player vs. Player) and PVE (Player vs. Environment) gameplay. Players have two different character options to load into a match, playing as PMC or SCAV. A PMC is an actual player loading in with whatever load-out they desire while a SCAV enters the match with random gear. What makes it real interesting is that not all SCAVs are the same, some will be actual players while others will be AI players. So, no matter what you do, you will need to be extremely cautious when engaging a target, looting and extracting.
There are hundreds of items available for looting in the game from weapons, ammo, health items, money and more. The economy in EFT is something to dive into and players will want to spend some time doing research before blindly running around with high value items. You will die in EFT, you will get stressed, you will get scared.
Escape from Tarkov is a military-grade simulation game for the hardcore gamer. The gameplay is brutal with an in-game economy developed enough to run a country. The game does not cater to hand holding, instead it gives you a pistol and says figure it out.
